Special Educational Needs and Disability Experience Survey (For residents within Shropshire Council area)

In November 2022, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out a reinspection of Special Educational Needs and Disability services in the local area of Shropshire. They found that further progress was needed in relation to waiting times for Autism and ADHD assessments, waiting times for Speech and Language Therapy services, and the quality and timeliness of Education, Health and Care Plans.

Within the county of Shropshire, we were required to develop an Accelerated Progress Plan, setting out how we will make these improvements.

To help inform our plan, we first put out this survey in summer 2023 and again in the spring of 2024. The results and actions taken following the surveys can be found here. We are putting out the survey again to understand your experiences over the last 6 months, to help us measure the impact of the plan and identify further improvements that might be needed.

The purpose of this survey is to help education, health and care organisations in Shropshire to understand the experience of local people who have engaged with local special educational needs and disabilities services.

We are interested in understanding whether, in relation to your experiences over the last 6 months, services met your individual or family needs, and if you are aware of the full range of support available in relation to neurodiversity, speech, language and communication needs and Education, Health and Care Plans.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete this survey.  Your responses are anonymous and we are not able to link them to you.  Your feedback will only be used to help improve our services and not for any other purpose.  This survey will close on 29 September 2024
