Make a difference to Palliative and End of Life Care
22 November 2022
Palliative and end of life care affects us all, at all ages – the living, the dying and the bereaved.
NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin is hosting two events in December to support a conversation about palliative and end of life care and set out how people will be involved in improving this care in the county going forward.
Alison Massey, from NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, said: “Ensuring that people get the right care is a priority for us.
“By listening to communities and health and care staff, we have come up with a number of key recommendations to improve palliative and end of life care for our population.
“The aim is to support people to live well for longer and, for those at the very end of their life, to die with dignity in a place of their choosing.
“We now need to put these recommendations into practice, working with people to really make a difference.”
The events will be an opportunity for people to:
- find out about the local health and care system’s ambitions for palliative and end of life care
- hear from people with specialist expertise
- take part in a conversation about death and dying
- and share ideas about involving people in making the ambitions a reality.
