Health bosses ask public to ‘think which service’ to reduce the pressure on hospital services

Since the Christmas period, there has been a significant increase in people presenting at our hospitals with flu-like symptoms and minor conditions. This rise in demand is making it harder for patients with urgent or emergency needs to receive timely care.

Vanessa Whatley, Chief Nursing Officer at NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, spoke to BBC Radio Shropshire today about the situation, what people can do to help, offering advice and signposting to local services where people can access timely treatment in non-urgent situations.
