Double win for June’s Star of the Month
15 June 2023
At the NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin’s Staff Huddle, Simon Whitehouse, CEO, awarded June’s Star of the Month to Charlotte Jones and Paul Greaves.
The Star of the Month Award recognises the commitment and dedication of staff members who go above and beyond what is expected of them to make a difference to patients, the public and colleagues.
Charlotte and Paul had multiple nominations from team members, colleagues they work with, and the practices they support.
Stefania Atzori said: “Since joining the organisation, Charlotte and Paul have been an amazing support for me. They have guided me through the foundation of my new role, always happy to help me through queries and walk me through the process. Working alongside them, I see the amazing work they do every day - from supporting me, to script switch, enterprise, MOT queries, POD cover... you name it, they will always lend a hand. They are a real asset to the team.”
Tara Moylan said: “ Charlotte shows commitment to achieve success in all her work and I feel she goes the extra mile to help and support. She has an excellent relationship with the practice and is approachable and able to give explanations without all the jargon.”
Philip Griffiths said: “I first had the pleasure of working alongside Paul two and half years ago when, during the most unprecedented and testing times of our generation, Paul appeared one day to help me with the first Covid vaccine clinic at one of our care homes. From that first day to this present day, I have never come across someone who is as supportive and helpful as Paul. Nothing is too much, and you can be sure that the support and information he gives you is accurate and current.
“In a time where our NHS is so stretched and we barely have time to stop and think, Paul manages to always find a little bit of extra time to help anyone who needs it. He is an asset to NHS STW and the medicines management team, and I feel fortunate to have him as our Locality technician. I feel sorry for the other PCNs who don't have a Paul to support them. Everyone needs a Paul in their team!”
Vicky Clayton said: “Both Charlotte and Paul have all the qualities that ensure the cogs of the NHS keep turning! They really are the epitome of a dynamic duo, but equally dynamic when working solo.
“They are both fully committed to achieving success in every piece of work they undertake, never shy at volunteering to help and support others. It is often said "they went the extra mile" but with Paul and Charlotte they don't stop at the mile point but complete the full marathon!
“Both have excellent working relationships with their respective GP practices and have on numerous occasions received thanks and messages of appreciation from the practice teams, this isn't something either of them highlight but just accept with grace and quote "I am just doing my job.
“Charlotte and Paul deserve recognition of their humility, hard work, dedication and overall commitment to the Medicines Management team and the NHS as a whole!”
When announcing this month’s Star of the Month, Simon Whitehouse, Chief Executive, said: " I always enjoy this time of the month as I get to announce our Star of the Month. Congratulations to Charlotte and Paul who jointly won the award this month. It was fantastic to hear a mix of nominations from staff within their teams, colleagues they work more widely with and the practices they work with.”
After receiving the award, Charlotte said: “This is such a nice surprise and I’d like to thank those that nominated me, for taking the time to write such lovely comments. It is a pleasure to help and support my colleagues within the Medicines Management Team and the GP Practices. I am very fortunate to work with such hard-working, supportive colleagues.”
Paul added: “I would just like to say thank you to all the people who nominated me for joint Star of the Month, and for all the positive things written about me. It is a pleasure to work with all my colleagues within the Medicines Management Team and the GP Practices. I am lucky to work with such an efficient and hardworking team.”
