Charity supporting people with health and social care needs celebrates Learning Disability Week

Taking Part, an independent charity for people with health and social care needs in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, is celebrating this year’s Learning Disability Week, 19 to 26 June, by thanking all their experts by experience volunteers for their hard work and commitment. 

Michael Ratcliffe, a leader representative at Taking Part, said: “We are celebrating by reconnecting with former members and friends – it will be a way great to say thank you.” 

Julie Mellor, CEO of Taking Part, said: “We recognise the value of our experts’ work with Taking Part and celebrate their successes.  Taking Part has come a long way since it was first set up in 1994 and we will be celebrating our 30th Birthday next year!

“Our small team works in the community, responding with a range of services that include advocacy support, sign-posting, engagement and information.”
