Children and Young People's Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Services
NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board (ICB) currently holds a contract with the Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) for the delivery of local Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CAMHS), known as BeeU.
A comprehensive piece of work is underway to redesign and recommission a CAMHS service that will replace BeeU. The process will be conducted through a competitive procurement exercise in accordance with Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 (PSR).

Engagement
To inform this re-procurement process, NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin undertook extensive public engagement from 27 January to 7 March to gather the experiences and views of children and young people, parents and carers who have tried to, or used CAMHS locally. To help inform our procurement process, questions broadly focused on:
- What was good about the service?
- What could be improved?
- What should the future service look like?
In response, almost 500 people responded to the survey, this included a mixture of online survey responses and discussions facilitated by trusted adults who had a relationship with children and young people.
Alongside, the public engagement a professional survey was ran. During this period 53 professionals responded to the survey. An in-person stakeholder workshop was also held.
All insight gathered will be gathered into a comprehensive engagement report and used to shape the final service specification. Both of which will be published shortly.
