Hospital Transformation Programme
Plans to transform our hospital services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and mid Wales are underway. We want you, our local communities and patients, to have the opportunity to get involved and give your views and feedback to help inform and shape our plans to improve care for everyone.

Sub-Acute Wards
In December, we asked for your feedback on a new service we were delivering at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The two new wards were being built to care for people who no longer need an acute hospital bed, but still need specialist in-patient hospital care and support services to prepare them for returning home.
Because we knew that the words we use to talk about services are important in helping people understand what kind of care they will be receiving and how long they will be there, it was important to us that we gathered and considered the views of local people, and the views of the People’s Network were core to the decision making process.
We are delighted to let you know that both wards are now open, and shaped by the feedback we received through the public engagement and your responses to our survey, we have named the service the Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit. Thank you for taking the time to share your views and opinions. We would like to share a report on the feedback we received from this network, which is available here.
Our next survey will be available soon. Keep an eye on your emails, we will always email when a new survey or feedback opportunity is available.
