12 May 2022
As part of celebrations to mark this year’s International Nurses Day (Thursday 12 May), NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin has announced the launch of a new careers event, showcasing the diverse range of roles available to aspiring healthcare professionals in the county.
The careers event will take place on Wednesday 22 June at the Ramada Hotel in Telford between 9.30am and 6pm. The event will give attendees the chance to informally chat with NHS professionals as well as attend dedicated workshops to learn more about the different nursing and healthcare careers available.
The event is also open to student nurses who may be seeking more information about potential specialisms and career routes within the county.
If you are inspired to find out more about becoming a nurse, allied health professional or a healthcare worker this International Nurses Day, you can sign up to the careers event by clicking here.
Alison Lester, from the recruitment team at Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System (ICS), said: “What better way to celebrate this important date than to inspire the next generation of nurses and healthcare workers for our county, whilst showcasing all the amazing work our nurses do up and down the county on a day-to-day basis.
“International Nurses Day also provides us with an opportunity to say a big thank you to all those who currently work in the nursing profession. Our nurses across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin play a hugely valuable role in the NHS, whether they work in primary care, mental health, community, care homes, or hospitals.
“I would encourage anyone thinking about a career in nursing or healthcare to come along to our latest recruitment event. Here they will be able to discuss all the options that are open to them, get personalised advice on which careers suit their skills and interests, as well as find out more about what this wonderful profession offers.”
