Celebrating Community Mental Health Transformation
On Friday 6 December, colleagues across the system gathered at The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury, to celebrate Community Mental Health Transformation.
MPFT has worked alongside a range of partners within Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to transform the way community-based mental health care is delivered for people with severe mental illness. Partners include primary care, NHS commissioners, local authorities, and voluntary and community organisations; alongside people with lived experience, their families and carers. Through this transformation, services will be easier to access and use, and by everyone working together the aim is to make a real difference to people’s overall wellbeing.
The event featured a dedicated marketplace where participants had the opportunity to engage with many of the partners involved. The marketplace provided a platform to explore the latest innovations, share best practices, and network.
Throughout the day, several thought-provoking presentations covered topics such as physical health, co-production and service user involvement, primary care integration, and much more. The presentations sparked meaningful discussions among professionals on emerging trends, technological advancements, and the evolving needs of our communities.
Reflecting on the event, Maryan Davies, Community Mental Health Transformation Lead, said: “This event has been a powerful testament to what can happen when a community comes together to make positive change for our service users, carers, and their families. The enthusiasm, collaboration, and stories shared remind us that transformation is not only possible but happening across our area. We’re so grateful to everyone who contributed to making this celebration such an outstanding success.”
