Lucy had a bad rash, a high temperature and sickness

A few weeks ago, I had a call to collect Lucy from school early as she had a bad rash, a high temperature and sickness.

Once I got her home, I wanted to get some advice on if she needed a GP appointment. To save time, I put her symptoms into 111.nhs.uk and immediately, it organised a call back with a nurse within a set timeframe.

When the nurse called, she helped to put my mind at ease and recommended some over-the-counter medicine to help with her symptoms. She also gave me some advice on what to do if Lucy got worse.

If you or a loved one needs urgent medical attention for something that isn’t life-threatening, visit 111.nhs.uk for the right help for your symptoms.

You can access NHS 111 online on a smartphone, tablet or computer – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
