Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital joins Cavell charity to support nurses through tough times (RJAH) has recently pledged its commitment to support the wellbeing of its nurses and healthcare assistants, by working with charity Cavell.
Cavell offers a tailored package of support to nurses and healthcare assistants, from advice, signposting, and referrals to specialist services, to one-off grants and rapid emergency funding for those at great risk.
In 2023, Cavell surveyed nursing and midwifery professionals and found that 80% were unlikely to speak to their employer if they were facing a financial crisis.
Paul Kavanagh-Fields, Chief Nurse and Patient Safety Officer, said: “Our nurses and healthcare assistants do an excellent job in looking after others, therefore it’s vital we support their wellbeing especially during times of need.
“Our membership with Cavell gives these staff a confidential and listening ear for guidance, enabling them to feel championed in accessing support, advice, information and grants.”
Joining Cavell’s Working With scheme was supported by the RJAH Charity.
Victoria Sugden, Charity Director, said: “The wellbeing of our staff is big priority for the RJAH Charity, and we are delighted to support our nurses and healthcare assistants by joining Cavell.”
