The first ever Finance and Contracting Team collaboration event took place on Friday 30 June at Shrewsbury Town Football Club, bringing together colleagues from across the ICS to discuss… you guessed it… finance and contracting.

The event was also an opportunity to hear from system leaders and to network with colleagues. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed a round of People Bingo, giving everyone the chance to get to know each other a little more, as well as group discussions around collaboration, best practice and ideas for training and development.

Speaking about the event, Laura Clare, Deputy Chief Finance Officer at NHS STW, said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended the event for their great contributions and for helping to make the day such a success.

“I left the event feeling energised by the topics discussed and the optimism that was expressed throughout the room. A key message from the day was that the strength of the system finance and contracting community is a key enabler to making our ICS one of the best in the country. A great message for everyone to leave with.

“We also discussed development and training opportunities, making the finance and contracting workforce fit for the future, and attracting talent to our system. It was a great day and I look forward to holding the next.”
