Shropshire Community Nurse receives prestigious award
Community Nurse, Emma Parker at Shropshire Community Health Trust (ShropCom) has received the prestigious Cavell Award. An award that recognises nurses, midwives, nursing associates and health care assistants who go above and beyond their normal duties
Emma has received the award for her hard work in rolling out the Named Nurse Concept through her Community Nursing team. The Named Nurse Concept is an initiative that ensures patients have the same nurse or nurses responsible for their care throughout their treatment.
Emma Parker says:
‘I feel so humbled to have been nominated by my colleagues. Every day I try to achieve good relationships with patients which results in better patient outcomes and therefore happier staff.’
Clair Hobbs Director of Nursing said:
‘Emma’s team have embraced this change in how they work. The Named Nurse Concept helps patients and nurses build a relationship which results in better patient care. This helps the staff feel empowered and happy in their roles as a result. Emma’s leadership in delivering this new model is inspiring.’
