Hardworking Gina awarded Star of the Month

Gina Groom, Senior Digital Communications Officer, has been awarded the Star of the Month for NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (NHS STW).

Gina was nominated by her colleagues who wanted to recognise for her hardworking attitude, and consistently going above and beyond. One of her nominators, Harriet Hopkins, said “Gina is a highly regarded member of the team who consistently goes above and beyond, helping and supporting members of the team and ICB staff on all things digital.

“Recently, on top of a normal workload, she’s led the development and launch of the new ICS website, as well as the brand new intranet, Shro and Tel. Gina has done an incredible job at delivering these projects, involving the right people at the right time, staying on track of deadlines at all times, whilst also keeping her cheeky sense of humour and maintaining her happy to help attitude.”

Another nominator, Naomi Martin, said “Gina is a fantastic colleague to work with. She’s enthusiastic, hardworking, and always makes time for you. She has provided me with multiple opportunities to learn from her and helped me integrate into the Communications and Engagement team. She is a jack of all trades and no matter how busy she is, she’s always there to support her colleagues.”

The Star of the Month Award recognises the commitment and dedication of staff members who go above and beyond what is expected of them to make a difference to patients, the public and/or colleagues.

The award was presented by Simon Whitehouse, in the NHS STW staff huddle. He said: “Congratulations and well done, Gina. Gina’s commitment to the team and the way she works with others shines through and are really important traits.”

Gina said: “Everyone working at NHS Shropshire Telford and Wrekin are stars in their own right, so be to nominated as Star of the Month was an absolute honour. I was really surprised when it was announced I had won – in recognition of the work I’ve done to redevelop the website and launch a brand new intranet. I am over the moon and would like to thank everyone who supported me with these two projects and, of course, the lovely colleagues who nominated me.”
