26 August 2022
NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin are on the lookout for a Community Representative to assist the Anticipatory Care Working Group.
The volunteer will help make sure that the group considers the views and experiences of people using local services to influence the future of Anticipatory Care.
Anticipatory Care is proactive healthcare and support, for people of all ages living with frailty, multiple long-term conditions and/or complex needs to help them stay independent and healthy for as long as possible at home, in the place they call home or in their local community.
Edna Boampong, Director of Communications and Engagement for NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who feels strongly about involving people in service development and closing the gap on health inequalities.
“Making sure that our services are designed and developed in ways that enable everyone in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to have the same opportunity to live a healthy life is one of our biggest priorities.
“This working party will have an important job of working with NHS staff to check they have considered the needs of all the people their service plans will affect.
“As a community representative, you will have the chance to really make a difference to our future services, improve people’s lives and their experience of health and care in the county.”
Currently the person is required for up to five hours per month which includes one virtual or in person meeting per fortnight. The role is expected to finish on 31st March 2023.
